In 2016, people planned election watch parties with big groups, including folks they barely knew. The Dems among us were devastated, with many unwilling to experience the intensity of this election night by themselves. This year, with Covid and an election that for most feels and is terribly high-stakes, many folks not only can’t safely watch with just anyone—they don’t want to.
