So Suzanne touched on something which, on one level I understand, but on another level I find a bit disconcerting because I've been affected by it more than once, and it's the whole lack of relationship history that she called a "red flag." I'm in my 30s, I'm not perfect, but I'm a decent guy with a job and I was raised to treat women well, and I do. However, I haven't had a serious relationship and it's largely due to career and bad timing. In my attempts to find someone, this inevitably comes up and it's always an issue because, simply put, I just don't think they think I'm being honest [even though I am]. If I got a date, I don't get date #2. And if I haven't had a real date with her yet, I don't even get to date #1. My options are as follows: be honest and be looked upon with suspicion, be evasive and be looked upon with suspicion, or make something up [i.e. lie about it] and be looked upon [rightly] with suspicion. I've seen better options in an Iraqi ice cream shop. This is sort of a subject unto itself, and there's no way I'm the only one with this problem. Any plans to maybe explore that in future posts?
